Pada 4, Sutra 25

Sanskrit Verse

Vishesa-darshina aatma-bhaava-bhaavanaa-vinivrttih

Translation

For the one who sees the distinction between seeing and the Self, there is a discontinuation of perpetuating the false sense of self.

Interpretation

When one is settled in the Self everything else disappears. The Kleshas (afflictions) no longer have any hold on us as their root Avidya (ignorance of our true essence as a spirit soul) has been removed. Both the seen and the consciousness that sees are no longer colored.

Reflection

Consciousness is an instrument of the Self.
