Pada 4, Sutra 6

Sanskrit Verse

Tatra dhyaana-jam anaashayam

Translation

There in the division of activity, only those that are the results of meditation are free from the accumulation of Karma.

Interpretation

In the established meditative state there are no chitta vrittis and therefore no further deposits in the subconscious mind. A totally calm stillness of the mind is experienced. In that mind state neither impression nor affliction perturbs the self and hence no Karma can accumulate therein.

Reflection

In the true state and taste of meditation there can be no “I”. When “I” disappears so does Karma.
