Pada 3, Sutra 23

Sanskrit Verse

Maitryaadisu balaani

Translation

By constraint on friendliness etc…, one acquires the powers of these qualities.

Interpretation

What one focuses on to the exclusivity of everything else, one becomes. If we restrain and focus our minds and awareness on positive qualities such as friendliness, love and compassion, then with regular focus on these qualities we will develop them within ourselves and over time potentially become their living embodiment.

Reflection

Forget status and drop all ideologies. It is not what you do but who you are that is important.
