Pada 1, Sutra 37

Sanskrit Verse

Vitaragavisayam va cittam

Translation

Or steadiness of the mind is achieved when the mind is fixed on those who have conquered attachments.

Interpretation

Like attracts like. If we choose to focus on the Image of a Realized Soul / Saint / Divine Incarnation and contemplate their lives and sayings on a regular basis, this association will be of great benefit by attracting to us on a psychic level (i.e. in our psyche through relating and identifying with them) their divine character traits.

This Spiritual Exercise will quell the Citta Vrittis and over time divinize the mind and its contents.
