Pada 2, Sutra 20

Sanskrit Verse

Drastaa drshi-maatrah shuddho ‘pi pratyayaanupashyah

Translation

The Seer is pure seeing. He witnesses the objects of perception.

Interpretation

The Seer has been variously denoted as Soul, the Witness Consciousness, Pure Unadulterated

Consciousness, the Atman, the Self, One’s Original Face. It is the Subject of all subjects, the Essence of All Things. It is immutable, unperishable, immortal and eternal.

The Seer is both simultaneously Transcendence (invariably affected by no-thing any-where and any-time as it is beyond space and time and beyond name and form) and Immanence (as it is the only constant that is immutable, unperishable, immortal and eternal in all space yet cannot be contained and at all times yet as no beginning nor end). The Seer is therefore a witness to all modifications of its individualized particle vehicle as mind and sense impressions and a witness to all modifications of Nature’s wave state called change within the various expressions of name and form.

Reflection

Be still and know that I am God Psalm 46:10

Meditation is the key to unveiling the Witness Consciousness Within. Be still in body and mind. Have no expectations. Do not resist nor indulge in your own thoughts and mind impressions while sitting still. Gently and effortlessly focus on your natural breath cycle. Let go of all concepts of having, doing or being. Do not try to be anything or to experience anything. Bit by bit allow yourself to be no-thing. Simply become the process of gradual unveiling which has no particular destination.

“Truly I tell you," He said, "unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3

Once we reclaim and become established as the Seer, we will reclaim our innocence and Original Face and will be established in the Kingdom of Heaven as Pure Consciousness.
