Attachment / Attraction is the clinging to pleasure / happiness.
Due to the wiring of our nervous system we are designed in part by Nature to be enticed by pleasure through our sensory realm. The difficulty lies in that we record those experience in our Mind as not only pleasurable and hence favorable but then make those very experiences as the goals of life itself due to the strong impressions they make on us in our consciousness that can be recalled at any time through the selective memory of the past. This is where we start clinging to those pleasurable experiences setting ourselves on a feverish journey to further experience them on the one hand and on the other fearing losing access to a repeat of those experiences which are ever fueling our attachments to them.
Spiritual Practice: REFLECTION
The world holds a hypnotic appeal that is fed by the senses and the imaginary faculty attached to them. It is neither good nor bad, right nor wrong, elevated nor berated. It is simply the Leela or Play of the Divine seeing and experiencing it all for Him/Herself through the agencies of our own Body-Mind Temples. Reinforcing the imperative to Meditate to arrive at the Truth that we are truly the sons and daughters of the Divine, Gods/Goddesses made flesh.
"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10
